Another successful appeal
Scott Cain successfully defended a positive trial court award in the Houston Court of Appeals. In a dispute over mineral reservation language in a deed, Scott successfully defended a mineral owner who was sued over a deed that reserved the minerals. The trial court granted partial summary judgment, and the case went to a jury trial. During the process of selecting a jury, the plaintiff’s attorney dropped the remaining claims and Scott secured an award of attorneys’ fees for his client from the judge. Scott handled the appeal which ultimately affirmed the favorable trial judgment.
